Lorax Thursday

Today we read a lot of different Dr. Seuss books. We talked about the Lorax and ways to take care of the Earth. We also read Green Eggs and Ham and practiced rhyming words. Then we read Oh, The Places You'll Go and talked about what we would do when we grow up. Mrs. Meyers came and read Horton Hatches the Egg. This week has been lots of fun!

Wacky Wednesday!

Today was Wacky Wednesday! The kids came in to the classroom to find many wacky things going on including silly looking teachers, shoes everywhere, a tree in the sink, papers and books upside down, and a guitar hanging above the door! Many of the kids also looked wacky with inside out pants, backwards shirts, and mismatched shoes! Even our schedule was out of order! Talk to your child about their favorite wacky things today!

Today was also our last day of science and many of the kids chose to hold a millipede! Many of them said all the legs tickled their hands! Ask your child to name some of the living and non-living things in the woodland and freshwater habitats.

Dr. Seuss Week

Even though we missed our original week to celebrate, we are having fun reading Dr. Seuss books and learning about him this week.

Yesterday we read The Cat in the Hat and The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. We had D.E.A.R. Time in the morning which means drop everything and read. The kids enjoyed having read to self time wearing their cool hats and sunglasses!

Today we read The Foot Book and Fox in Socks. We reviewed antonyms and adjectives. The kids had a lot of fun showing off their silly socks!

Tomorrow is wacky Wednesday! You'll have to come back to check out the fun and learning!

February Fun

We were fortunate enough to have some guest readers from Mix 92.9 come to our classroom.  They read a story about the importance of recycling and then Mick the Moose came to visit.  Everyone could give Mick either a hug or a high five!  The students each received a goodie bag at the end of the visit.

We also had a great time on Valentine's Day!  We had cupcakes, cookies, and juice donated for our party.  We played bingo and tic-tac-toe.  The students made a special Valentine for their parents.  The students loved going through their Valentine goody bags to see all the sweet notes and yummy treats their friends brought in!  We Love Love in Room 115!
